Aubergine or eggplant, is a plant belonging to the family Solanaceae and genus Solanum. It is a native plant of India and Sri Lanka, and closely related to tomatoes and potatoes. The fruits used as vegetables for cooking. Botanical name Solanum melongena.
Eggplant is a green plant is often grown on an annual basis, to take the fruit. This plant grows to 40-150 cm (16-57 inches) high. The leaves are large, with coarse lobes. The size is 10-20 cm (4-8 inches) long and 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) in width.
